Bei der Sammlung handelt es sich um das Ergebnis eines mehrjährigen Projekts des Sportwissenschaftlers Dr. Karl Graf, mit dem Ziel alle unnatürlichen Sterbefälle in Tirol, insofern sie in der Tagespresse und den Kirchenbüchern Erwähnung fanden, zu verzeichnen. Jeder Sterbefall wurde als eigene Verzeichnungseinheit erfasst und mit der betreffende Belegstelle verzeichnet.
