Cronologia
geb. in Hohenems, gest. in Landeck; Begründer der Firma Foto R. Mathis. Träger der Verdienstmedaille des Landes Tirol und der Julius-Raab-Medaille;
1990 wurde die Firma "Foto Rudolf Mathis" und damit das umfassende Fotoarchiv aufgelöst.
Ein wesentlichen Teil des Bestandes an Glasplattennegativen, die Ortsansichten und Gebäude als Motiv haben und als Bildpostkarten vervielfältigt wurden, konnte von den betreffenden Gemeinden angekauft werden. Sie werden dort fachgerecht gelagert und sind über das Portal TIGA veröffentlicht.
Sehr viele Kleinbild-Negative und Studio-Fotografien (Passfotos, Veranstaltungsserien etc.) sind nicht erhalten.
