geboren in Nauders, Besuch des Franziskanergymnasiums in Hall, Promotion zum Dr. der Rechts- und Staatswissenschaften an der Universität Innsbruck, Rechtsanwalt und Mitarbeiter in der Handelskammer, 1946 war er Leiter des Landwirtschaftsamts Tirols, von 1953 bis 1963 Abgeordneter zum Tiroler Landtag, von 1949 bis 1963 Landesfinanzreferent und von 1957 bis 1963 Landeshauptmann von Tirol. Von 1962 bis 1963 war er Landesparteiobmann der Tiroler Volkspartei.
