Die Halskrause ist ein Spezifikum der Lienzer Tracht und erinnert zu Recht an Bilder aus der Renaissance. Stammt sie doch ursprünglich aus dem 16. Jahrundert, als das sogenannte "spanische Hofzeremoniell" Mode und Aufputz am Hof in Wien bestimmte und war damals bei Frauen und Männern beliebt. Die 8 cm hohe Halskrause besteht aus einem 9 m langen Stoffband.
