Alter: [unklar]; Das Ehepaar Prof. Strele und Prof. Ganahl wollten eine Tour durch die Ötztaler Alpen machen. Von der Bielefelder Hütte sollte der Acherkogel überschritten werden. Ein totaler Wettersturz mit Regen, Nebel und Schneefall führte in die Katastrophe. Mehrere Bergungstrupps versuchten sie zu finden, was tagelang nicht gelang. Zuletzt sehr schwere Bergung der Leichen. Waren Universitätsprofessoren in Innsbruck, stammten aus Vorarlberg.
